FreemiumChecked

GitHub Copilot is GitHub's AI coding agent, taking work from an open issue through to a reviewed pull request. It suits developers who want to debug code with agent mode and code review in their existing editor.

What GitHub Copilot does

Copilot meets developers where they already code. It works in VS Code, Visual Studio, JetBrains IDEs, Xcode, Neovim, Eclipse and Zed, as well as in a desktop app, the CLI, on github.com and in GitHub Mobile. In the editor it offers code completions and next edit suggestions, and agent mode is available in VS Code, Visual Studio, JetBrains, Eclipse and Xcode.

Larger jobs go to the Copilot cloud agent, which researches, plans and writes code, with or without a pull request. It can start from an issue or pull request and run tasks in parallel, and automations trigger agent tasks on demand, on a schedule or from triggers. Copilot code review checks pull requests and local changes for quality and security issues. You can pick a model, let Copilot choose, or connect your own API keys and local models through Ollama and Foundry Local. MCP servers, custom instructions, skills and Copilot Connectors extend it, and work can be delegated to third-party agents.

Pricing is per user per month: Free at $0, Pro at $10, Pro+ at $39 and Max at $100. Usage draws on GitHub AI Credits, with monthly totals of $15, $70 and $200 on those paid plans.
